Cranberry Lake Management

The CLCC is committed to the long-term welfare of Cranberry Lake and all of its inhabitants. To this end, we have established a thorough lake management program to ensure the continued health of the Lake.

Aquatic Vegetation

Cranberry Lake contains a large variety of native and introduced forms of aquatic vegetation ranging from Eurasian Milfoil, Bladderwort, Niad, Pondweed and Lilly Pads. Each year, the CLCC allocates a sizeable portion of the annual budget to successfully manage the aquatic plant population with a focus on lake utilization and fisheries management.

In 2006, the CLCC secured the services of Aquatic Technologies Inc. to develop and implement a comprehensive vegetation management program through the use of systemic and contact herbicide treatments. The primary objective of the program is to combat the spread of Eurasian Milfoil. The first signs of Milfoil growth occur shortly after ice out and become progressively dense as sunlight penetration increases. Routine treatments are performed throughout the spring and summer seasons to minimize the expansion of this invasive vegetation. Treatments of native species, such as the various forms of Pondweed and Lilly Pads, are treated as needed in boat lanes and swimming areas throughout the lake.

Draw Down

The CLCC works closely with the Superintendent of Hopatcong State Park and the NJ Department of Fish and Wildlife to perform regular draw downs of Cranberry Lake. One objective of the draw down is to assist in aquatic vegetation control however, since the benefits are contingent on weather, results will vary. Regular draw down also provides opportunity to sponsor “Lake Cleanup” events and the restoration of shoreline properties.

Zend Optimizer not installed

This file was encoded by the Zend Encoder / Zend SafeGuard Suite

In order to run it, please install the freely available Zend Optimizer, version 2.1.0 or later.

What is the Zend Optimizer?

The Zend Optimizer is one of the most popular PHP plugins for performance-improvement, and has been freely available since the early days of PHP 4. It improves performance by taking PHP's intermediate code through multiple Optimization Passes, which replace inefficient code patterns with efficient code blocks. The replacement code blocks perform exactly the same operations as the original code, only faster.

In addition to performance-improvement, the Zend Optimizer also enables PHP to transparently load files encoded by the Zend Encoder or Zend SafeGuard Suite.

The Zend Optimizer is a freely-available product from Zend Technologies. Zend Technologies is the company that develops the scripting engine of PHP, also known as the Zend Engine.
